Where does TermScout get its contract data from?

TermScout builds its market benchmarks using public contracts and anonymized data.

TermScout builds its contract benchmarking dataset from two primary sources:

Publicly available contracts
These include agreements such as terms of service and other contracts published on company websites. They provide real-world examples of how contracts are structured across the market.

Anonymized contract data
Contracts may contribute to benchmarking only after negotiation positions are anonymized. This ensures that no contract or company can be identified.

TermScout does not expose or share full contracts. Instead, it uses non-identifiable data to understand how specific terms are typically negotiated in the market.

Why this matters
By combining public agreements with anonymized real-world data, TermScout’s benchmarks reflect how contracts actually behave, not just theoretical standards.

This allows teams to:

  • understand what is typical versus out-of-market
  • make more informed contract decisions
  • reduce negotiation friction based on real data
